Guest guest
http://www.ftc.gov/bcp/edu/pubs/consumer/alerts/alt107.shtm http://www.snopes.com/politics/business/cell411.asp I have no clue as to why this rumour is taking up so much e-mail space on our group site. I have blocked from receiving messages the one person who keeps on sending the messages out about a deadline for registering cell phones with the FTC National Do Not Call list. See links above. I will not respond to, nor post any further on this subject. I find myself praying that it will just die a quiet and natural death. Anyone has always been able to register a cell phone number with the FTC DNC service. They do explain on the website why this may not be effective. I spoke with the Federal Trade Commission today, and they re-assured me that: 1) there is no NEW date for registering cell phones; 2) anyone has always been free to register any of their own telephone numbers; this is NOT new; 3) However, as they explained to me, the registration of a cell phone number may not be effective--but anyone can do it. I love you all, but on this subject I have provided the facts, and am hanging up. n, Outraged in Oakland, CA, about one thing or another, usually. . . .
