Guest guest
Rule or rule of thumb, I don't know, but it is my understanding (same as someone else answered) that bone age IS typically younger than chronological age until the child has precocious puberty (sp??) - if that child does have that issue. We don't know what is going on with . He's such a complex case - that was what I was upset with the doc about. Although a 6 y.o. bone age result on an " average joe " might not be a huge deal, I think it is with my son's case. When she still argued it wasn't a big deal, I said g'bye to her. The next doc we had thought it was something to check into, even though it wasn't THAT far off. I think I read somewhere here about the head closing up late (I forget the term) on RSS kids - my son's was VERY late. I'd have to ask the pedi about when it was, but I recall it was WAY later than the average. btw, I am not sure if I posted this before... I got a call from 's doc (endocrine) and his TRH stim test came back abnormal... so we are pretty much at a dead end currently. He goes back for another bone age test in February. In the meantime, I am going to be contacting Dr. Liechtner's office. Thank you to those who recommended him.
