Guest guest
This is in regards to my promoting of our field and challenging other professions at the local level who impede on our scope. I just received our 2008 phone books at the clinic and NO chiropractors are listed in the physical therapy section anymore. From over a dozen listed in our section last year to NONE. As for massage therapists, one clinic foolishly relisted our of 7 last year. Get your phone books out, they are commiting fraud and advertising that they provide physical therapy if they are in our section of listings. We have to fight this battle because until APTA does a better job of promoting our field to the public, very few consumers would now to say to a chiro or massage clinic, " you advertise physical therapy but you don't have a physical therapist? " The uninformed consumer (in most cases) has no idea that only we provide physical therapy services (other than a few exceptions). Defend your turf!
