Guest guest
This is a new concept to me. From what I understand, the evidence supports this model and it has been implemented much more in the East and West than Midwest. The APTA Pediatric Section supports it as well. It seems like a great idea in terms of patient/family-centered care, but are there any unforeseen, long-term dangers to the profession with this approach? Specifically, in terms of reimbursement, if third-party payors see that PT outcomes are being achieved by non-PTs do they eventually view intervention as " less-skilled " and decrease/eliminate reimbursement? The same question could be asked equally of the other disciplines involved in the transdisciplinary team.
