Guest guest
Dear FORUM, Re: /message/8043 It was wonderful to read about Anjali Gopalan's work First let me acknowledge that it is good that you wrote about those issues. I have faced similar problems and criticism when I talked about hope for the these girls at the Institution. They say community is the answer when I have seen that even mothers do not want to care about the children if they are found to be HIV positive, And in our case most of them have been recovered from a brothel where they were sexually abused also. I read with fascination about the local help Anjali talk about. ly I think I have not tried enough to work that way and have depended on overseas funders. Apart from some consideration in CD 4 counting and ART, which is free, we do not receive anything from the Goverment. We need a separate outfit for these children and no one wants to help us there. As NACO has all the UNAIDS funding, no funders want to give us funds for the positive girls and we need funding for education, stay, special nutrition, and other medication. We kind of somehow manage. Best wishes for you work.
