Guest guest
Norma, A Boy Called It is very disturbing, especially to those who love children as you do. I read it, devoured it in fact, but as I say, it will haunt you. Reader beware is all I am saying. The fact that it is true is all the more disturbing. I am currently reading the sequel to it. Guest guest
Norma, it really is scary some of the nuts out there, I just thank God and my Mom and Dad for bringing me up to care about kids. My 4 turned out well, and even though I did not beat them, I was stern, but loving with all of them. Although the older 3 say I spoil the youngest. The best compliment I got from my oldest girl Chrissy was that she finds herself raising her boys the same way she was raised. Carol

Guest guest
I remember as a child my father's brother's wife had 3 children. I am not sure of what order they were in I remember hearing stories of my Aunt Joyce was always a b-I-t-c-h . I remember adults talking about how she would leave her out in a high chair on the step in the summer way after dark because he would not eat his supper. He was less than 2. my aunt, her sil, threatened to call the police if she did not treat better. There was no social services back in the 50 's around here. Anyway died when he was 2, full of many bruises and many relatives thought it was from abuse. Joyce died a few years ago. Her daughter Sylvia , who is my age was a bit older than I think ,is married to a doctor in their small town and quite hoity toity HA! Her husband is a lot older than her. She has a younger brother Terry my cousin and he used to be quite a drunk . Don't know much about them really. I must get mom to tell me the story when she is better. I always worry because I have some kids that I teach now and then and I look for signs as I am suspicious. Actually I come right out and ask sometimes but kids do not often tell. Scary, Poor wee people. ;O( Norma

Guest guest
Yes, once I searched for it by 'A Child Called It' rather than by 'A Boy Called It', I found it immediately.

And I couldn't go as I had a previous commitment and found out too late to change it.
