Dear FORUM,

Re: /message/7990

I have been in touch with Ashok over this issue for quite some time. Now that

you have opened up let me also give you my concens.. Our calculations as per the

evaluation were follows:

1.Collectively patients for the three years:

2004 – 07 = 88.7% 2006 – 2007 = 92.5%

2. With regard to the average rate of stay per patient at the CCC it was

calculated as:

No. of days per patient stay at the CCC was 9.24 days.

Total No. of patients for three years = 1036

3. I am here to submit humbly that the recent ORG evaluation has marked us as

3.82/5 = 76.4% which we personally feel well rated. They have further

graded us “A” and effectively running.

How ever it has been told both by SACS that we have been graded " B " .

It is also on par with you that our CCC was started in 2001 and have been doing

well. The entire show till today with capacity building etc, was done by us and

not SACS. How ever the entire brunt of the evaluation has also been faced by us.

I am also with you that we had been told only a day before the evaluation that

too projected as a visit.

It may be further interesting to note the major obstacles that we had received

the funds until July - August 2007 for the year 2006.

We also represented to honourable DG/NACO and Dr. Bachani (Joint Director)

hoping that our fears are cleared and we are encouraged.

I also feel that some sought of a cordial decsisons should be taken and our

efforts should proceed in stead of un necessary fears of stopping etc.

My fears and experience suggests that those who are experienced and are fair

enough can do better than new ones and all our energy should be saved for the

cause. People/organisations that have been there for ages should be understood

that we have toiled for several years not to see the end but a fruitful

continuation with a strong backing from NACO and SACS.

Ashok let us all meet up with the hounourable DG/NACO and Dr. Bachani for a

smooth continuation so that the cause is still survived. I am sure they will be

in a position to understand.

With warm regards

Shymalal ASHOK

Dear Friends,

Re: http://health. groups.. com/group/ / message/7990

It is hard to know the fact, the CBOs and NGOs working in the field of HIV/AIDS

do not have the unity to fight and advocate for care and treatment, which is a

basic need of PLWHAs.

NACO DG will work here in this dept for few years and can get transfer to other

department, but what is your contribution to the PLHAs community? Will you be

there for ever?.

I just want bring to forum notice, How many care centre are regularly funded by

the SACS from the initiation?

Secondly, SAHARA issue is first tactical step,no body open the mouth, now it has

come to all the CBOs/NGOs/Positive Networks. How many beneficiaries has come

open to fight the issue?

Those who are working in the same geographical regions are prvoding the same

PLHAs community details. This number game is played to get funds, but not to

serve? Why the CBOs/NGOs are crying? let community can come forward to raise

this issue.

Then NACO DG and Government will change its decision. Show the PLHAs strength?

Let us wait and see what the NGOs/CBOs do in the future.
