Guest guest
Hiya everyone Are you sick of me yet? Just a quick question about walking devices to help me get around in the house and so that I don't have to rely on Steve when we are out. Should I do some research and get a walking device myself or should I wait until Friday when I see my GP and ask him for one? I've got a wheelchair downstairs but I'm reluctant to use it 'cos my arms aren't strong enough for me to push myself which means relying on Steve to push me everywhere but I want some independence y'know? I saw a walker thing on wheels with a seat online a few days ago which looked great for me 'cos it would mean I wouldn't rely on Steve to take me everywhere and I could sit down for a while if I needed to. Thing is, I can't afford it right now so should I ask for it as an anniversary pressie or ask my GP to recommend I have one which could take weeks or months to organise? What does everyone in these groups use to help them walk and how did you get it? Sorry for all the questions! Guest guest
Mandy, I too am a " wall walker " . When I go out I usually have my children or my hubby hold my hand, if I'm needing it...and I am a huge fan of shopping carts. I get one even if I'm going in for one item. I also have a cane which I rarely need and a wheelchair which I haven't used for awhile now. Jolie
