Guest guest Posted May 11, 2008 Report Share Posted May 11, 2008 Dear FORUM, I am in deed very happy to inform the AIDS INDIA e Forum about my greatest achievement today, that is the Govt of India, Medical Council of India has declared the highest civilian award in Medical field in India - Sir Dr.B.C.Roy national award in Socio- medical relief for me today for the year 2006. This award has given in recognition of the services renderd in the field of HIV/AIDS prevention and control since 1983. Onbehalf of the people who have died and living with HIV/AIDS ,I am going to dedicate and recieve this award on July 1st by H.E. the President of India This prestigious award will be presented by H.E.the President of India in July 1st 2008. Brief note about dr. rayapu , ramesh babu Dr. RAYAPU, RAMESH BABU, President and Chief Executive Officer of Blood donors Organisation for Social Service (BOSS) and its AIDS Branch Centre for Information, Prevention and Counselling on AIDS (CIPCA), A Registered Charitable Non-Govt. Voluntary Community Based Organisation it has 400 doctors and 8050 Blood donors as its members. He is also the Chairman, AIDS Prevention Standing Committee of Indian Medical Association, A.P. State, born on 30.11.1960. He is a Doctor (MBBS), Lawyer (BL), Psychologist (MSc(Psy)) and Social Worker (Ph.D. on HIV/AIDS) based at Tirupati, Chittoor District. He is an internationally recognized expert on HIV/AIDS. He has been rendering charitable free service to thousands (47,101) of Persons living with HIV/AIDS since 1983 in A.P. State; through his BOSS & CIPCA organization. He never had private practice or job, he is doing only charitable free medical and health service to PLW HIV/AIDS and rural poor people after completion of his M.B.B.S. in 1987 (more than 20 years). He has donated his blood 115 times in 23 years of short period (International record). By invitation he has attended 51 International conferences on HIV/AIDS worldwide. His more than 100 Research papers on STI’s/HIV/AIDS peer reviewed and published in International journals as Abstracts. His dedication to the service of the suffering millions of the country has been widely appreciated and won him awards 31 International awards, 25 National and State awards and several district awards. From April 1991 to March 2007 Dr. Rayapu, Ramesh Babu, successfully organised 2237 camps. Out of them 115 were free rural medical health camps, 25 mass blood donation camps, 221 blood donation motivation camps and motivated more than 2,11,000 persons to donate blood so far, 1876 AIDS awareness campaigns conducted. He gave 2459 lectures on AIDS in different AIDS awareness campaigns in the state. Trained more than 8,000 Doctors, 1020 para-medical health workers and NGO representatives from 23 districts of Andhra Pradesh State (A four weeks training). 200 social health workers, in Chittoor District and constituted Chittoor AIDS presentation society (CAPS) in 1995 His activities have been witnessed and appreciated by more than 200 officials & VIPs of the State and country including the Hon’ble Vice-President of India Sri. Bhairon Singh Shekawat once, Ex-Vice President of India H.E., Late Sri Krishan Kant thrice, Ex-Governor of A.P., H.E., Dr. C. Rangarajan, twice, Governor of Mizoram H.E. Sri. A.R. Kohli, twice and Hon’ble, Dr. Y. S. Rajasekhara Reddy, Chief Minister of A.P., once. He has received two times ( 1991 & 2003)“ Best Doctor ” from the Government of Andhra Pradesh State. Honorary Fellowship: Awarded as Sanjaya Lall Fellow by the Oxford University, United Kingdom in 2007.
