Guest guest
I would hesitate to provide Tylenol, because this is adding toxins to cope with removing toxins. Not saying Tylenol is horribly evil, but just that it could possibly interfere with the purpose of the intro (and possibly create a new/delayed detox situation). For a child OR adult who wants to minimize detox symptoms, I would recommend:spending several weeks easing into the diet, THEN doing the proper intro (ie. incorporate more and more SCD foods into your usual diet, and have progressively fewer illegal foods, over the course of three or more weeks, then do intro). My goal would be to have 'weaned' to SCD legal foods by at least 4 days before intro. This way, most of the detox is experienced very slowly, such that by intro, it is barely perceptible. Going this route, my 3 yr old and I were both fine. have lots of non-food nurturing prepared: in bed with a tv, camping in the yard with mom, video games, a favourite aunt over playing dolls, whateverhttp://www.pecanbread.com/badreaction.html (scroll down a ways) offers three more tips under: 'How can I make my child feel better during the die off period?' Cheers,Baden My daughter who is autistic will be starting in the next few weeks, I wanted to start first and now I am glad I did. I am thinking she will need some tylenol. Is there are brand of tylenol that does not have the starchysugary additives?Karol>> I started the intro diet today and am starting to get a bad headache. > Is this normal? Guest guest
Well I think Tylenol is okay - Elaine says we're allowed to use medicineif we need it. Another thought is to soak in an epsom salt bath. But I think easing into the diet is a very good idea. I did the same. And didn't experience initial die-off, though I had terrible die offthat lasted days and days and days 3 weeks into the diet. I would hesitate to provide Tylenol, because this is adding toxins to cope with removing toxins.
