Dear Forum and Friends,

Greetings from Positive Lives Foundation (PLF-GOA) !

Dalit Sena – Goa and Positive Lives Foundation (PLF-GOA) organized a program for

a local community involving key players to create more awareness on HIV/AIDS/STI

fighting stigma, discrimination faced by those infected and affected with

HIV/AIDS addressing social problems in celebration 138th Birth Anniversary of

Mahatma Gandhi to be held at Vasco on Sunday, 07th October 2007 from 3. 30. p. m

onwards.

Over all response was very positive with good participation of the local

community from mangoor Hill and Driver Hill. Nearly 160 people were a part of

the program majority of women’s and young. Distributed refreshment to the

individual participants both organization contributed cost of the program.

Shri. Manohar Dhargave, President of Dalit Sena briefed about the organizations

coming forward together and highlighted stressing more on development issues

such as HIV/AIDS among back ward class of the society and Senior Citizens.

Chief Guest: Shri Simon D’Souza, Ex. Dy. Speaker, Chairman Toddy Tappers W. F.

Board Member of Goa Rehabilitation Board congratulated to both organization for

coming forward for a social causes and spoken on development of Dalit people,

stressing more on HIV/AIDS spreads in Vasco and the maximum number of highest

cases are in vasco area by giving a example of Mr. Jaffer who is very encourage

to others locally.

Guest of Honour: Shri. Gluck D’Souza, B.Sc. (Hons) L.L.B, highlighted on

hygienic condition of the mangoor hill area and further intervention on health

care required specially on HIV/AIDS.

Guest of Honour: Shri. Jaffer Inamdar, Program Manager / Founder President of

Positive Lives Foundation (PLF-GOA) given a talk as recourse person educating

and sensitizing local community on HIV/AIDS/STI being very open with his status

shared experienced of living with HIV/AIDS highlighted more on Stigma &

Discrimination faced in the community by those infected and affected with

HIV/AIDS to promote and protect a human rights of People Living with HIV/AIDS in

local community. That can leads to positive impact towards HIV/AIDS in future.

He was also lives before and belong to same community which he had a very

negative experienced for HIV status previously. He is also a being a good

follower of Gandhiji. Further he appeals to the community to join hands to fight

HIV/AIDS.

Guest of Honour: Shri Tushar V. Sawant, Project Leader of Agnel Vocational

Training Institute Verna, spoken on various courses provided by the institute

for a development of community further self earning. He also appreciated the

effort of PLF-GOA being a HIV positive body doing a lot for cause of HIV/AIDS to

curb the HIV epidemic in Goa. he is also willing to provide vocational training

to our members to promote a income generation for self earning.

Guest of Honour: Shri. Siddanna Meti, Indian Humanitarian Organization, Vasco

Block President encouraged all participants on each different issue highlighted

by honorable guests further needs to be united in the community to build a

healthy atmosphere.

Shri. Babu Rajput, Vice President of Dalit Sena – Goa given a vote of thanks to

all the participants and honorable guests.
