Hi, I made crackers with white beans. I went through the soaking, rinsing, etc. Cooked them, turned them into bean paste. They had absolutely no flavor. It took a lot of spices to give them flavor. Turned out great though. I did not dehydrate them and grind them so can't help you there. Just wanted to say the white beans do not have any flavor at all. It makes a ton of 'dough' also so you may want to measure it carefully and make hummus or store the rest of the flour.

Hi all,

I want to invest in a flour mill to process beans for making breads. I know we can not take a chance by buying it ready made so im willing to give it a go at grinding my own. So here are a few questions:

Has anyone here baked with bean flour before?

Is there weird taste to the baked goods due to the flour?

Do we just soak then dry the bean before we grind them or im i missing a step?

What is the best way to get the beans to a fine powder, like reg. flour? I see flour mill attachments for the Kitchen Aid, but at $150.00 im not sure if i should just order it as a test.

flour?

Hi Lou -

Could you try using a food processor or blender first? I know that's

how we make almond flour " from scratch " - and it might give you enough

of the consistency you need to at least try making something to see

how it tastes before you blow $150.
