Guest guest
Dear FORUM MEMBERS Wondering why NACO is so keen about testing the whole population of the country? Let us say they do and then what ? Do they have enough medicines to be provided free of cost {both First and Second line } if they detect large numbers : Or are they going TO DETECT THEM AND THEN BRAND THEM WITHOUT TREATMENT Will it be a single ELISA test for mass rapid screening - if so what about false positives ? This is absolutely UNETHICAL ; instead they can PROMOTE the good old method of VOLUNTARY COUNSELLING AND TESTING l am not sure if such diseases with social dimensions should be detected " aggressively " Mathews e-mail: <docmathews@...>
Guest guest
Re: NACO'S Universal HIV Testing Policy /message/7927 Dear FORUM, The answer to Dr Mathews question lies in the " global market " insanity. More +ves means more $$$! There is no moral story or ethics in this. Just cold, dispassionate market " principles " .
