Guest guest
Hi Just wanted to quick share. My son was in a BAD BAD gut place when I started. After 1 month, I decided to try yogurt. gave 1tablespoon 1 day; 2 tablespoons for 2 days. (that sounded small to me....) he had already been taking 4 capsules of acidopholus no problem. He had 12 days slowly increasing, then decreasing of : screaming, bedwetting, painful urination, gas, bloating, red ears wild eyes, attacking mom (me) .... I lived with a bottle charcoal in my hand, and an epson salt bath running 3xs a day .... plus watermelon juice for urination. I then was so fearful... 6 weeks later... I began again... at 1/16th of a teaspoon. 1/16th!!!!!! He had a MINUTE reaction.. I kept him there 5 days... by day 2, he seemed ok... but I was being safe... I have SLOWLY SLOWLY increased him... he's now up to 3.5 tablespoons a day. With increases, he STILL has mild symptoms... glassy eyed... anxious...sometimes ears and cheeks get blochy red and I STILL give him charcoal when I see it... but it goes away quickly... (within 20 minutes) and that's that. No more 12 day hell. My point... this yogurt must be POWERFUL in comparison to probiotic pills... and the temp too high just makes it less potent... not less useable. I would worry more about DOSAGE than anything if there is a reaction. And keep the temp around 106 seems to make the yummiest, creamiest (besides most potent) yogurt.. while OVER 110 it gets... yuckier. runny...etc. I hope this helps someone out there! gotta go cook.. carrots.. bacon... chicken.. SCD Bialys! it's 6:32am! I am late. Take care! mom of 3 - 6, 10 (ASD), Randy 20SCD since 11/14/2007household SCD modified, but not all following
Guest guest
You have clarified some things for me . I was wondering whether to switch to probiotics instead of yoghurt. Our baby has similar symptoms to your son. His cheeks go red and blotchy, needs constant movement, gets cranky. I think I'll stick with the yoghurt and just reduce the amount. That way than I'll still have calcium and he's still getting better. Kindest Regards, Tracey YOGURT REACTION Hi Just wanted to quick share. My son was in a BAD BAD gut place when I started.
