Guest guest
Dear Forum, TANSACS, had invited applications for a community care center (CCC) and Drop in center(DIC) from NGO and CBO in Tamilnadu. When considering the call for application for Community care center, TANSACS has asked for Medical facility, Bed strength, case load and Lab facilities and have said that a year old CBO could apply. And in the JAT visit , The committee members are hard and fast in sticking on to the criteria on holding the above said facilities. We from the Tamil nadu Networking People with HIV/AIDS (TNNP+) in Tamilnadu, strongly feel that this demand for medical facilities for granting the project is unfair. How Could TANSACS expect a one year old CBO to have all the have lab facility, medical facility etc… Provided we CBO would have been funded in the NACP II , as other CBO in other states were given the Project and recognition by SACS in other states, then we would have been able to have all the facilities for the community care center in our CBO as well, but you were quite controversial to the NACO guidelines and have been continuing in the same phase, even in the NACP III. Is this to prevent CBO from strengthening itself or is it to prevent us from getting services? The preference is always for the NGO and this is a one sided favour extended by you to the NGO and completely neglecting the CBO. In NACP II , the NGO , only after the grants were released for CCC, they began to develop the Medical facilities and bed strength, but in this NACPIII, the demand for medical facility is held as a criteria for granting the project. We require justice and an opportunity to prove ourselves in Par with the standards of the NGO. TANSACS should avail us an opportunity as the other SACS in other states function with the CBO. *IS THIS A FAIR OR AN UNJUST APPROACH OF SACS? * Karunanidhi.G Tamil Nadu Networking People with HIV/AIDS (TNNP+) 391/30, East 8th street,K.K.
