Guest guest
> if your allergist or dermatologist is wasting your time... go see a > rheumatologist > or endocrinologist. I'm due to see a rheumatologist in late November. (6 wk waiting list would you believe. We have one of them in the entire town of over 130,000, not to mention the other smaller country towns that surround us. /- My doc made the appointment for me last week, due to arthritic pain I've been getting in all my joints for several weeks. She is now thinking Fibromyalgia?? I've had a lot of tests (Lupus, Thyroid, ANA, etc) but they have all been negative. I've had 2 rheum. arthritis tests, the last when I was in tears from the pain in my finger joints, and both were negative. (I am on anti-inflammatories now anyway, Cerebrex, til I see the other doc) I wasn't aware that a rheum.specialist could also help with my CCU. How are they connected to our condition? If I can 'kill 2 birds with one stone', more the better!! For those wondering about the 'Histamine Avoidance Diet' (no tomato, cheese, etc) I've been on for 4wks, the jury is still out as to it's effectiveness. I have still hived, but not much, and not severely. I woke up yesterday and was hiving for the first hour, and I wasn't doing anything energetic or hot! I think it was from my 'work breakfast' I had. I'm on graveyard shift at work, so sometimes we all pitch in money and cook bacon and eggs etc for breakfast. I cooked, and the others wanted fried tomato with their meal. I think some of the tomato juice got on my bacon (unavoidable really in the one frying pan), and that caused me to hive later. I was waiting til I'd been on the diet for 6wks before reintroducing foods on the 'bad' list. It does seem odd though, that yesterday was the only morning that I had 'unexplained' hiving, and the first time I've been near tomatoes. Need more controlled testing before I can confirm it though. (I am so looking forward to pizza, let me tell ya!!) That's all from me, 'Red like a tomato' hiving and jiving hugs, Leeanne from Oz.
