The white card is the " regular strength " and the black card is the " ultra pro-line " . I don't know what the specific difference is, but I get about 4-5 days out of the white card, and about a week out of the black. Guest guest
I would buy a small package first and try them. We can ONLY buy duracell. We have tried all the others and they dont even last one day. The duracell will last 1-2 weeks. Weird huh? Guest guest
Hi, Just wanted to pass on info I have learned the hard way about batteries. 1) The Duracell batteries ARE sometimes different thicknesses and can be the cause of the hearing aid turning off and on as they slide back and forth. Probably depends on the hearing aid and haw the battery compartment is made. 2) The power aids often need high power batteries (hard to find on-line). We found out by accident that we got 5 dB more out of a new high power batttery than a standard battery across the frequencies (Siemen's power music). 3) The phonak people told us to use high power batteries with the microlink FM since the microlink receiver draws its power from the hearing aid batteries. 4) The high power batteries don't seem to last that much longer, but we get better gain and the FM works better. 5) The best policy is to use the type of batteries recommended by the hearing aid manufacturer. Low or moderate gain hearing aids might be hurt by the high power batteries. I went back and looked in the Siemen's users guide after switching to the high power batteries and sure enough, they recommended high power batteries from the beginning. So we are using 13, High power. We got them on-line from Coastal Hearing Aid Center http://www.hearingusa.com/battery.htm High Power Batteries 13, 10 card packs of 4 each, $52.00 Terri , Mother of Kathy, 6 profound-to-severe, future paleontologist and Power Puff Girl on 11/1/00 9:10 PM, Listen-Upegroups at Listen-Upegroups wrote: > Message: 8 > Date: Wed, 01 Nov 2000 15:13:55 -0500 > > Subject: Re: Kerri- Rayovac battery prices? > > At 03:02 AM 11/2/00 -0500, you wrote: >> Hi there, >> Kerri, what price did you say you found for Rayovac batteries? Guest guest
They're on colored cards and they're labelled Rayovac Ultra Loud N Clear Premium Hearing Aid Batteries. They're endorsed by Arnold Palmer with a picture and a facsimile of his signature, so of course they must be good (lol). At $12.99 they're worth trying-- I'll find out if they don't last. Thanks. Guest guest
Our audiologist specifically stated to use Rayovac only because the other batteries were thicker and would spread the prongs on the battery compartment too far and soon the h/a would stop working. We've followed her suggestion Terri wrote: > > Hi, > > Just wanted to pass on info I have learned the hard way about batteries. > > 1) The Duracell batteries ARE sometimes different thicknesses and can > be the cause of the hearing aid turning off and on as they slide back > and forth. We've followed > her suggestion Hi . This is the first I've heard about the batteries. Is this for all sizes? Is it only Duracell that has this problem, or all other brands? I'm interested in finding out more details about this because if I can verify the info, then perhaps it's something that should go on my battery page. Guest guest
We have used Duracell, Energizer and Rayovac Zinc Air 675 batteries and they all last the same (about 8 days) for Jake's FreeEar power aid.
