RESEARCH ASSOCIATES/INVESTIGATORS and OUTREACH WORKERS

MAITRI is a New Delhi based non-profit organization working in the

areas of advocacy and social awareness of HIV/AIDS, women's

empowerment, and child development. Maitri focuses much of its

efforts on the extremely 'at - risk' populations vulnerable to

infection of HIV/AIDS such as women and children, and uniformed

personnel and their families.

Maitri has undertaken a Primary Health Care project with special

emphasis on HIV/AIDS, STIs and TB among migrant construction workers

in and around Delhi. This project will cover the construction workers

in several work sites primarily in the NCR and nearby states. In the

first phase of the project, a Baseline Survey is planned among the

workers as well as the site supervisors and contractors.

For the baseline survey, we are looking for RESEARCH ASSOCIATES /

INVESTIGATORS for a period of 15-20 days during July - August 2008.

Eligibility and Qualifications: Candidates with a Masters' degree (or

pursuing their masters') in the Social Sciences - Psychology,

Anthropology, Sociology, Social Work, Public Health etc. may apply.

Prior experience in data collection and administering survey

questionnaires would be preferred. Any research experience would be

an asset. Knowledge of English and Hindi is necessary.

OUTREACH WORKERS

Eligibility and Qualifications: The candidate should have completed

their 10+2/twelfth standard education. Candidates should have a good

basic knowledge about HIV/AIDS and related issues. Prior experience

in outreach work is mandatory. Any research experience and knowledge

of English and any other regional language would be an asset.

Knowledge of Hindi is necessary.
