Guest guest
It turned out to be a long hard session. My PCP is an awesome man that has ms himself so he knows much better what we deal with on a daily basis. Besides his ears listen well and he understands and speaks English. He also didn't sleep during his classes. Don't be shocked but he and I are on first name basis as we are of the same age group and have a friendship as well as Dr-Patient relationship. Can't ask for better in my book. Bill is a keeper! I had to stop the neurontin immediately as I had started allergic reactions that I had not realized were happening. They were mild but would have gotten worse he thought if I hadn't gone in then. Knew it was not working correctly but thought it was a tolerance thing.I had called the neuro's office Friday but never got a reply after giving the symptoms to his nurse. Bill was not impressed either. I had more concerns about the neuro conduct too. For almost two months I was not able to obtain MRI + LP results after he assured me that he would call personally when they were all in. Never happened. Well in four weeks there was no communication at all. I called down there as I was not about to travel the 75 miles one way to get these. The girl who took the call on a Friday told me she'd remind him that I needed those and so did my PCP. What she did not say was the office was shutting down for a two week vacation. The answering service told patients to go to the ER in that area if you had problems. When I finally got thru to a receptionist she was going to make sure I got reports the next day as neuro still was not in and she was not sure why he had not responded before they were gone. Bill needed the info to do his part to treat me.That idiot had the receptionist call me to say all tests were normal and that he was signing off my case. He didn't think MS was part of the picture. Isn't that against the Hippa laws? I thought so. We while I was with Bill he called the neuro and put him on the speaker phone so hubby and I could hear. When Bill asked why there was not contrast on the spinal mri and why the lumbar was not done he was told it was not needed.(Most of my spinal pain is in that area) He said the thoracic had no problems either. How did the scoliosis I was born with disappear? Bill asked him how the two buldging discs went away too. Neuoro hadn't seen those either. Nor had he seen the calsified(sp?) tendon/ligament bundle which is scar tissue from a injury in 1996. Now on to the C-spine. which the phone reports said were normal. These showed arrowing of disc space C4-5 and C56, both discs are bulging plus ventral encroachment on the canal. Encroachment on the left is larger than right from more spurring. There we some other tests because of the mini-stroke I had in late April. I won't bore you with those answers which had Bill angry too.Bill questioned why no meds were given to me for the ms. Again neuro stated he was not at all sure I had it but really had no idea what else could be wrong so didn't put me on anything other the the neuronten.Bill told him quite plainly that none of the doctors in this office would ever send patients to his office again also that he was withdrawing his own case. For now I'm on hold again while Bill and two others in his office locate another neuro for me as well as himself.I really hope we can locate one we both like. Meanwhile he wants me to stop my massage therapy and PT for a couple of weeks to give my body some rest from the stress of this. He also give me a scrip for Valium for the stress and fudging tight muscles happening now. Now I'll bet you're sorry I put it all in here. Guess I needed to vent more than I knew. I'll get thru this just as I have before. In the mean time I could use a few extra prayers here if any of you are willing that we will find a neurolygist that works for both of us. Weezie > > Aha! It was Bacchi! If I'm spelling it right. LOL > How did yesterday go? > Challis > >
