Hi and welcome,

My dd's story sounds like YOUR dd's....

There was a woman on Pecanbread ( maybe?) who went to Disney a few months ago and wrote a really detailed letter about how she dealt w. the food issues. Might be worth joining that group at Yahoo as well, and searching the archives.

All the best,

Ellen

New Member Intro & Hints for Traveling to Disney?

Hi everyone,We just joined this group! Hi to Kim H., I recognized your name from SCDinfo. I have gained so much knowledge from that site that I also decided to join this site, so hello everyone!About Kaitlyn:My Kaitlyn, at at 8, was sick with d from 1/07-6/07 (and b severe 5/07-6/07) and FINALLy dx with CD (entire colon friable) 6/28/07. Took pred. from that next day until end of 10/07. She was asked to begin Imuran back in July 07 but we declined. Instead we opted for Flagl and Pentasa and introduced SCD 9/7/07. D (no B) returned when weaning off pred., but we stuck with SCD 100% and after 4-5 weeks one day it all changed back to formed bms! We all celebrated!! She has been doing so well that we are now down to 1 Pentasa pill each in the a.m. and p.m. I am VERY slow at introducing new foods to her because I'm scared but we are moving along! We just hope and pray that she stays in

remission and can be med-free soon. We truly believe in SCD! Questions: Can anyone recommend any dinner restaurants near Disney that may be SCD friendly with fresh meats/seafood/ veggies cooked plain?? For the first time since 12/06 we have planned a family vacation and leave very soon. It's our first time to Disney. I have rented a condo 2-3 miles from Disney with a full kitchen so I can cook for her. We will be eating breakfast and lunch at the condo. We were planning to eat dinner out each night but I am VERY hesitant! We have only taken Kaitlyn out to eat here in the Baltimore, MD area maybe 3 times since we began SCD. Poor kid!So if anyone can recommend any places to eat near Disney or if you have any other helpful traveling hints, it would be greatly appreciated!Best to all on the SCD journey,, Kaitlyn's Mom, north of Balto., MDKaitlyn, turns 10 while at
