Hi Blaine,

Necta Sweet used to be legal. I used to use it all the time but a few years ago they changed their formula and included modified cellulose gum which is illegal. I was really upset and wrote to the company as did several others. Obviously, it didn't do any good because it still has the cellulose gum in it :-(

Necta Sweet

Go to Nectasweet.com to find the stores where it can be purchased. It is almost pure saccharine in tablet form and maybe a better alternative to sweetnlow. Blaine

Kim,

I'm new to the diet (less than 2 weeks). Is the only legal

saccharine liquid sweet n low? or is there any legal form of

saccharine? Honey and really sweet juices in the past have not

always set well with me. Maybe as I continue the diet I will

tolerate them better. Thanks Blaine

Blaine,

I have been using liquid Sweet'n'Low. I did find that you can buy Hermesetas brand saccharin online and the ingredients are just sodium saccharin. The shipping is only $5 for me (in Texas) from,

http://www.drugdispensary.com/products/Hermesetas_314.htmlAnd I'm sure that you can find other online places to buy them from. I'm going to order some. I miss my NectaSweet tablets.

Take care,

I use Sweet'N'Low liquid and Sweetie Gold tablets.

Here in New York the only supermarkets where I found Sweet'N'Low liquid

are ShopRite stores (I found that out from the Sweet'N'Low website and

it's true!).

The Sweetie Gold tablets come from Israel, and are sold in kosher

groceries (they were completely out of stock early this year when I was

looking for it, then it magically appeared on shelves just before

Passover). They are tiny tablets that come in a cute little mushroom-

shaped plastic bottle inside an itty-bitty yellow and red box.

Ingredients: Sodium Bicarbonate 78.82%, Sodium Saccharin 21.18%.

There's a virtually-identical Israeli product called Sucrazit - I

suspect Sucrazit makes Sweetie Gold for Paskesz Candy Co (!) which

distributes it in the US from Brooklyn, NY.

BTW I recall reading that liquid Sweet'N'Low is made with calcium

saccharine not sodium saccharine, and is supposed to have less of a

bitter aftertaste.
