Guest guest
Dear Elaine and others who asked: the cream I mentioned is called Pi Yan Ping Ruangao, and I get it from a Chinese herbal doctor in London. I went to her years ago, hoping that the Chinese doctors might be able to help where the conventional ones couldn't, but alas, etc. the absolutely foul herbal teas I drank for weeks did nothing for the urticaria. (And to anyone who wants to try this treatment - I was told at the hospital that a lot of the Chinese herbal tea treatments result in liver damage, and I had to have liver function tests after 12 weeks of drinking the tea.) The cream, however, really is soothing and very cold when you put it on. It comes in tiny tubes at £3 a throw ($10 - ish) and of course you want a tubful, not a tiny tube......also, I have no idea what is in this cream, although one doctor I showed it to suggested menthol may be one ingredient. I have read that some of these creams contain steroids, so if you do get any, please please only use when desperate, and use thinly and sparingly etc just in case. It's no good for that all-over itchy crawly feeling, but if you have scratched yourself specifically in a place and it's hiving and burning like crazy, that's the time for the cream. I really only use it at night now if I wake up after scratching!! During the day I TRY not to scratch (ha-who am I trying to kid?!). Take care, Carol
