Guest guest
Hi Donna, I'm sorry about your fall. I hate it when that happens. It happens to me quite a bit. I'm so afraid that one day when it happens, I'm actually going to break something. On me, that is. I gave up trying to garden. It used to be one of those things I took so much pleasure in. I did have an indoor herb garden this year though. It did surprisingly well, especially the basil. I had basil coming out of my ears. I used a lot of it and dried some as well. It hasn't really started cooling down here yet. Still in the high 70s to high 80s. I'm really looking forward to some cooler weather. Gas prices are about 3.65 now. That's pretty low compared to a week ago, when they were around 4.00 a gallon. It was good to hear from you. I hope your hands stop contracting soon. I know how painful that can be. Personally, I don't know how old you can realistically be to get an MS diagnosis. I would imagine that you're never too old. Hope to hear from you again real soon.Love and blessings, Val The residual attributes that we pass down to our children may not be in our genes... but in our souls. I wassitting at the computer when there was a knock on the door. I toldMarcus that it was probably Hunter. Hunter is Marcus's friend. Marcus was in the middle of something and couldn't stop to answer. Anyway, he asked me nicely if I could get the door. Well, I'm notreally sure what happened, but my foot got hung up on the floor, myother foot, or something else. I lost my balance and grabbed for thewater cooler. Next thing I knew I was on the floor with the watercooler. Today, I've been feeling like I've been beaten up and run over by aMack truck. For several days now I've been experiencing muscle contractions in myhands. It makes it hard to do my basketry. I have to stop until myhands relax. But, those tight muscles sure hurt. Our weather is finally cooling down. The growing season was so weirdthis year. The only things that did well in my garden were thesunflowers, tomatoes, green beans, and parsley. I've been drying theparsley and picking the tomatoes as they've ripened. I can't gardenthe way most people do, so I adapt. Since I have trouble getting upfrom the ground, I sit on a stool when I'm planting or digging weeds. Also, because I have issues with my balance, I can't use theregular garden tools like the shovel, hoe, an rake. I have handtools. Anytime I uncover a worm, I throw it on my compost. I'vemanaged to harvest plenty of rocks if anybody wants them. Pay postageand I'll ship anywhere in the US.Gasoline has dropped down to $3.59 around here. While I do notfrequent all gas stations, that seems to be the lowest price so far. But, other things are going up in price. Does anybody know what the oldest age that a person can realisticallyget diagnosed with MS? I hope everybody has a good week.Donna in WA
Guest guest
Hi, Donna: Sorry to learn about your fall. I guess it's fortunate the water cooler didn't land on you. But, it's very scary. I'm very paranoid about falling down the stairs some day or banging my head on a fall. Like you, I also get contractions in my hands, especially the left one. And, I have to wait for the contractions to calm down. Very, very frustrating! Gas prices here in the SF Bay Area have been coming down. The Arco gas station near me is selling Regular at about $3.87/gallon. The Shell gas stations, however, are still selling gas at about $4.14/gallon. I'm not sure who is going to Shell to get gas. :-)Dan U dao_nguu@... To: MSersLife From: djnova50@...Date: Mon, 22 Sep 2008 06:43:21 +0000Subject: things Yesterday, I fell. Guest guest
Hi Donna! Im so sorry you fell. I know what you mean. Whenever I have a fall I feel like I was run over by a truck the next day. I dont know if youd like to try this but when my feet, legs or hand are cramping or contracting really bad I use a ace bandage. My physical therapist taught me this a few yrs ago and it really helps, especially when the meds and rest dont do the job.I wrap the ace bandage kinda snug but not too tight and wrap it around my troubled spot and it really helps alot. I do it on my feet alot cuz they cramp up and jerk and twist all crazy. Anyways, i hope you feel better.I will say a prayer for you. luv n hugz cassy things Yesterday, I fell. Guest guest
ROFLMHO Rocks for sale. That's great, Donna. A big OUCH on your fall. I'm so sorry. Are the spasms in your hands a regular thing for you or does it come more with attacks? I really do think you should stop wrestling with the water cooler, in any case. I got my tomatoes in this year and nothing else. And they were late and didn't do much. I'm watching a couple tomatoes now to see if they'll get big enough for even one batch of fried green tomatoes at least. lol A friend has a great garden and has donated to my needy cause. LOL I got some pickles done and they're waiting to be opened. Yay! Challis things Yesterday, I fell. If I had been starring in a situation comedy, itwould have been funny to see it in playback.
