Guest guest
Sharon I am sorry to hear you are having numbness. You remain in my prayers. Hugs nne Like many of you, I have had widespread numbness (of varying degrees) over my body for years--sometimes it's better in some parts and sometimes it's worse. But for the past few weeks I've had patches of total numbness in new spots on the right side. My question: If this has happened to you what have your doctors said about it? What did the doc say about the cause? I did put a call in to my neuro already. hugs))))) Sharonhttp://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/MSersHEALTH/ This email is a natural hand made product. Guest guest
When my right foot (just the bottom) went numb at the first of this MS for me, the doc said it was normal and all I could hope for is for the feeling to come back. He also said it had something to do with the oglin bands that I had been feeling. (the tight hug feelings) My right foot was the first to feel the band and it was my right foot that went numb (on bottom only). It was something that did not go completely away. And the feeling like pins stabbing into my foot only made the pain worse. Finally after about 6 months I could no longer feel the pins and the foot has just been numb ever since. But I am still able to use it. Hope this helps and yours goes away soon, I know it is such a weird, fearful feeling, it will get better or maybe we get use to it??? Guest guest
Thanks . I've been numb since my big attack in 1997. The severe (total) numbness of that first attack got better after a few months. But I've still had numbness--just not as bad. This numbness is near-total. Guest guest
(((Sharon))) In my case, every time I tell one of my doctors about a new sensation or lack there of, they look at me like...really? And I usually get one of those answers like I'm telling them something they didn't know. The response is usually, "Yes, ok". Then they make note of it. Then they ask about my treatments (which I'm not on). In other words, I really don't get an answer except the ol',"Stay out of the heat if it's at all possible". I'm sorry I couldn't be of any help. I wish I could be. I can tell you my experience with the numbness issues. In most incidences, I've only had to deal with the numbness for about three months or less. Several years ago, I lost the feelings in the tips of my fingers. That has never returned. I don't expect it will. Good to hear from you... Love and blessings, Val The residual attributes that we pass down to our children may not be in our genes... but in our souls. Guest guest
Neuro's can be down right insensitive sometimes without even knowing what they are doing!!!!
