Guest guest
Goood for you Georgia!!!!-Lowi, who has no balance and can only dance slow songs:) deafness The thought of going deaf is certainly scary. Before I had my surgery five years ago my hearing was about 99% in each ear and I was not at all impressed with the idea of losing it completely in one ear, but that was the expected outcome. I do English country dancing every week, it is my one concession to that dreaded 'e' word(ex****se). For a long time I had wanted to learn one particular country dance, called "The and Dorothy". Our instructor had never heard of it although he spent years learning in England, and I thought I would go to my grave wondering about this dance. Well, a couple of very good friends who knew about the surgery found the instructions and music for this dance and had the music tape sent from England. A couple of nights before I went into hospital they taught this dance for me, retitled 'The , Dorothy and Georgie". They had thought that when my hearing went music wouldn't be the same and I probably wouldn't be dancing for a while so they wanted me to hear the music properly while I could. Weren't they wonderful??!! As it turns out I didn't lose all the hearing, I somehow have kept about 60%. And as for not dancing, I did my first dance about eight weeks after surgery. Not elegantly, true, but I did it. Georgia who can dance for two hours straight but can't run to the letterbox.
