Does anyone know if these peas

would be legal? Thanks!!!

We were never able to find anything on them that allowed determination of

legal or illegal. But because they're cousin to the illegal black-eyed

peas/beans, they are probably too high in polysaccharides.

Remember the SCD motto: when in doubt, there's no doubt, leave it

out.

If, however, YOU tolerated them....

Hmmmm.... I don't know if I tolerated them or not... I only ate a couple spoonfulls last night. I just thought they were regular peas and didn't think anything about them until I tasted them and they tasted like black eyed peas (which are my fave peas) and I remembered them being illegal.

Guess I'll throw them out.

Thanks for the info.

So if you grew up eating them

(grandparents grew them) and rarely find them these days, just pass them

up? :-). They are a lot smaller and tender than field peas.

We spent most July 4ths shelling them.

And you get pretty purple fingers for about a week after, oh

well...

All I can say is... I've put them on MY illegal list. If you want to try

them. and see.... I mean, I grew up eating wheat bread, too, and don't do

that any more. <wry grin>

I'm not a good person to ask about peas because even baby green peas give

me grief. (Broccoli and cauliflower, which give most people fits, are, on

the other hand, just fine.)
