Guest guest
Hi Actually I had a good July 1st (I'm from Ontario, Canada and we celebrate Canada Day on July 1st) but happy 4th of July to you. I have a brother who lives in Tennessee. Anyway, what I did that worked for me was kept eating my 10-15 foods that I knew that didn't cause me any problems at all and ate just those until I felt much better and alot of my symptoms left. It took me about 2-3 months of doing this and then I would add 1 new food every 5-7 days. I still do everything really well cooked and deseeded and am proceeding cautiously but like I said I've got my life back. I was pretty much housebound a year ago - I even had to send my husband out to do the grocery shopping because I knew I wouldn't make it in time to the bathroom at the grocery store if I was at the other end of the store if I needed to go. Anyway my main foods for those first 2-3 months were roast chicken, chicken soup, carrots, squash, zucchini, spinach, beef patties, bananas, applesauce, hard boiled eggs, yogurt and after 2 months I added cheddar cheese and macadamia nut butter which I made with bananas for muffins and had no problems with these. If I'm having PMS my symptoms usually get a little worse, so I always go back to the basics for a few days and it helps alot. If you have any more questions please feel to email me directly if you wish. Also, someone from this group posted information about taking Jarrow Formulas Curcumin 95 and I have been taking this for 2 weeks now and it has helped tremendously - I can't get over how it seems to calm my system down. I take 1 with breakfast and 1 with dinner. It's a natural anti-inflammatory and actually helps your body produce the hormone cortisol naturally that is the same found in the dreaded predisone. So this may also be helping me get off my meds. I'm down to 3 mg of predisone this week which would never have been possible before and I'm almost symptom free except for urgency 1st thing in the morning. Anyway, good luck and I know it's hard at the beginning but trust me - so worth it. Deanna UC since 2005 SCD since Feb 2008
