Guest guest
I have to tell you that I was talking to a woman employed by a Michigan school district today and it was at the Intermediate School District level and she said something I asked her to repeat. I told her I was writing it down and then read it back to her to make sure that I had heard what she said correctly. In response to whether my daughter's IEP would be implemented as written if we were moving to that district or whether we would need to do another IEP before services could be started she said " If it is something we offer we would implement her current IEP as written. If it is services we do not provide then we would do another IEP and get you to agree to what we can offer. " Since my husband is petitioning the court to have my daughter have her ESY services provided in Michigan during the summer I am interested in the school district. As far as I could figure out, they do not offer hearing impaired services during the summer. The only services offered are those for severely and profoundly mentally retarded students but they guessed they could place her in one of those classes. Obviously an appropriate program is not available in this district for my daughter. Barb
