Guest guest Posted February 16, 2001 Report Share Posted February 16, 2001 I'm not sure what it means, Carol. I've heard that all chronic idiopathic urticaria is autoimmune, but others say it isn't. I think a lot of it probably is autoimmune, since technically autoimmune is simply the body attacking its own self. And isn't that really what is going on with us? By firing off all the histamine, our bodies are basically attacking themselves? Sounds reasonable to me. I did ask about that test, how often people test positive for it, and was told that most do, but not all. I wonder, when people test negative for it, does it help doctors narrow the field of possibilities? Somehow I doubt it, LOL.
