YMCA/ Apollo Tyres Health Care Clinic in Nagpur

Inaugural Programme Report

In collaboration with the Apollo Tyres Health Care Clinic (STD/STI

Clinic) of the Apollo Tyres, New Delhi and the existing programme of

TI (Trucker) with Avert Society, Mumbai and managed by YMCA, Nagpur,

the ATHC Clinic was inaugurated on 23rd November, 2007 at 09:30 a.m.

at Khapri Naka, No.8, Wardha Road, Nagpur at the hands of Mr. Rajesh

Dahiya, National Sales Head, Apollo Tyres, New Delhi and Ms.

Joy, Associate Project Director, Avert Society, Mumbai for the

benefit of truckers and highway users.

The programme started with the cutting of the red ribbon of the

Clinic and formal inauguration by the lightening of the lamp at the

hands of Mr. Rajesh Dahiya, National Sales Head, Apollo Tyres, New

Delhi and Ms. Joy, Associate Project Director, Avert Society,

Mumbai. Ms. Harshita Pande, CSR and Marketing Sales Head, Apollo

Tyres, New Delhi, Dr. Rajesh Kapse, TI Specialist, Avert Society,

Mumbai, Mr. P. R. Singh, Zonal Manager, Apollo Tyres, New Delhi, Rev.

Sharad Sontakkey, President and Mr. Prakash Bhandarkar, Treasurer,

Mr. J. P. Fernandes, General Secretary, YMCA, Nagpur were prominently

present on this occasion.

" A " Club members and peers group selected from the community

performed the welcome song for the guests.

During this programme Mr. J.P. Fernandes, General Secretary welcomed

and introduced the guests. Following the floral welcome of all guests

by the hands of project staff, the YMCA street play team gave the

message of STD / STI / HIV and AIDS through the play, enlightening

yet entertaining the truckers.

Ms. Joy appreciated the services provided by the truckers to the

nation and advantage of this STD / STI Clinic. Dr. Rajesh Kapse

lauded the achievements of the project in the last two years. Peers,

Ku. Sushama Lakshane, Ku. Ujwala Rakshak and Mr. Akash presented the

dances for entertaining the audience.

Mr. Rajesh Dahiya explained the role and expectations of the Apollo

Tyres and appealed to the trucker community to take advantage and

involve in health and prevention of diseases initiatives. Mr. Naresh

Thorat, Counselor proposed the vote of thanks while Mr. Shammi

Sheikh, Project Coordinator compered the programme.
