Guest guest
[Editors note: June 26th is the The International Day in Support of Torture Victims. A a day created by the United Nations General Assembly to demonstrate solidarity to all whose mind, body or spirit have been impacted by torture]. Dear forum members, How long shall People Living with HIV/AIDS (PLHA)we remain as " Victims of Torture " by State? On the occasion of " International Day in Support of Torture Victims " we request Indian Government which is a signatory to United Nations Convention Against Torture (UNCAT) to end the torture on People Living with HIV by delaying the decision to provide second-line ART who needs it now! According to UNCAT, " negligence in healthcare by the stateĆ¢ " is one of the several factors that defines torture. Let us awake, arise our friend and fellow people living with HIV and " National Leaders " in a united manner to demand for second-line Anti Retroviral Therapy to be made accessible and available immediately and not allow us to " Die Without Treatment " . We demand for constitutional propriety to prevail by enforcing Article: 21 of Indian Constitution to ensure Citizens Right to Life. In solidarity, AIDS HEALTH CARE FOUNDATION INDIA CARES ADVOCACY DIVISION Mahesh Ganesan e-mail: <mahesh.ganesan@...>
