Guest guest
My 13 yr. old daughter who has a moderate low/high frequency and severe mid-frequency loss wears ITE's. She has had them for one year. The hearing aids are digital. Before last year she wore BTE's. When purchasing her hearing aids we were able to receive the first recasing free as they were done just at the one year mark. The next recasings will be about $50 per aid. I though that was a small cost per year since she LOVES her new hearing aids. The biggest drawback is that if the hearing aid needs recasing, which at this point is very limited, you have to send in the whole aid as opposed to just taking impressions of the ear for the new mold and waiting for it to arrive. The good part is that the manufacture has promised and delivered a very quick turn around...overnight mail out, immediate recasing and overnight mail back...about four business days. She has kept her BTE's as a back up pair, but has not had to use them yet. Also, a very good friend of mine whose 6 yr. old wears the same type of hearing aid negotiated a three year free recasing on her son's hearing aids. Probable because the manufacture see a long term relationship if the consumer is happy.
