ny has a fascination/obsession with water.

He can be in the backyard with the running hose

for hours or in the tub with the running faucet.

Just give him a couple of plastic cups and a bowl

and he's in heaven.

We have to lock the bathroom door because he turns

on the faucet and plays in the water. The lock

broke and I was letting him play 'supervised' in

the water. I was away from the room for awhile

and hadn't given ny much thought till I came

back and saw him standing in an INCH of water,

soaking wet all over the bathroom floor. He had

somehow put cans of soda under the faucet and the

water bounced off them and out of the sink and he

was playing. WHAT A MESS!!!!!!!!!!!!

I couldn't be too mad at him because it was my

fault. Needless to say the lock is back on the

bathroom door.

Same here. He even plays in the cat's water bowl, no matter how much I

scold. He dips his hands in, and then claps, with a big smile on his face.

So hard to tell him no, when he has that look of pure joy on his face.

*note to self: move cat's water bowl!*

Ditto! Your child is the one that comes across most like mine of all

that I've heard of so far. It's probably because they are about the

same age, but everything you write, I could write.

Hey all,

I have been wanting to check in for a while, but various problems have kept me

quiet for some time now. I think the last person to ask about me by name was

Darin, so thanks for asking even though that was months ago. I guess I would be

considered a mid-timer. I joined in spring 2001 when my PSC was dx. I have been

having a bumpy health road, but nothing really major, just persitent and

exhausting. I have a long standing UTI that I hope is cleared up now. I have

been given the go-ahead to have sinus surgery for some birth defects and a

deviated septum. I am hoping that will give me some relief in that direction. I

have been dealing with a fair amount of pain, nausea, and weight loss lately. I

got terribly sick when I went on Ketek for a sinus infection. I made an

emergency visit to my doctor (lunch break visit--he is so nice that way). I

stopped the Ketek, the low dose, long term antibiotic I was on for the UTI,

stopped the 6-mp and increased the nexium to 2xs daily. After about a

week, I felt much better, then got a nasty stomach/intestinal flu. But that

lasted less than two days, so I was relieved I didn't get sicker.

My computer had a breakdown and I couldn't send out any e-mail. That was

particularly upsetting for me since my son is in Sao o, Brazil and that was

my only way of communicating with him. I did get my computer fixed. They had to

reinstall windows--go figure.

My PSC is moving along nicely, ahem, I mean it's certainly been worse. I have

periods of extreme gastic distress and days of that insane itching, but nothing

earth shattering. My UC is flaring since I've been off the 6-mp for about two

weeks now. I see the doc in about 2-3 weeks. BTW, I couldn't take all the other

typical meds for UC and the 6-mp has been a colon saver for me. I did take

Immuran for a while and then suddenly had violent purging (both ends) within an

hour of taking it. It took me two or three days to figure it out. I'm a bit

concerned because I seem to be building up immunity to many antibiotics. It

takes two or three tries to clear up a sinus infection. I am also one of the

members who cannot tolerate Urso at any dose. It gives me diarrhea, even worse

fecal incontinence.

I am amazed at all of you doing the work for the new foundation. I wish I had

the energy and drive to do what you all do. I am thankful that there are people

who can do so much.

I've had many positive things going on. We moved to our new house last August.

It is wonderful and has a lot of ready-made projects to do. It is on the Snake

River and I have a deck overlooking the river about fifty feet above. We have a

nice road that leads down to the river and I can't wait to take the kids fishing

soon. I am the full time mom to my two gr.kids Jasie 5 1/2 and Rylan 3. My Suzie

is 17 and doing well in her junior year. My oldest (25) is living with us

(not good) but has been involved with Drug Court and has kept clean for 8 months

now and has also kept a job. This is all wonderful. I am just looking forward to

the day she is able to get out of the house. My Alyson (23) and her hubby Cody

have a beautiful son Drayke (8 months old now) Remember name the baby Bair

competition. We had a lot of fun with it. But Cody's love of waterfowl hunting

won out. Alyson said he could name him Drake if they spelled it the Old English

version, hense the /y/

My son (21) is on a mission for our church in Sao o, Brazil. We have

had several weeks of wonderful spring weather (on and off) and I've been able to

work in the yard--lots of flower beds and fruit trees (we have over an acre of

land now). I must confess, I'd much rather do gardening than house work.

My husband has been wonderful. He is patient and considerate of me. I feel I

have more blessings than I have challenges. I don't see my problems (health or

otherwise) as anything other than opportunities for growth. This new paradigm

has made such a difference in everything I do.

Even though I haven't posted, I have been reading the posts (not always easy and

getting harder and harder as we get bigger and bigger). I care for you all and

pray for you all. I hope to be more active, but life sure is busy here, and I'm

so-o-o tired.

It was great to hear from you Kath, Ken, Margie, Pam, ok this isn't going to

work, I'm going to leave out way too many. Welcome to all the new members. Thank

you to everyone for posting. It's so good to belong to such a forum. Deb, I

think of you often and am heartened to hear that the tx might be soon. Take care

As far as working on the foundation goes, it is my son who has the

disease and not myself so I am able to put a lot of effort into it. I

will do all that I can, as much as I can. I really admire my co-founder

Ricky who is doing so much while dealing with PSC as well. That makes

me want to work harder. I really appreciate all the PSC patients here

who help in any way even if that is just writing in with their

thoughts. Their words of support and advice are invaluable.

Take care

Cheryl,

Sounds like you have your hands full. I see from your reply to Tim that you

are feeling better, and that is great. My son continues to improve, and is

down to weekly labs in Pocatello. He is strong enough to be enjoying the

steelhead fishing season that is in full swing here.

Here is best wishes for continued improvement from a fellow Idahoan.

Regards,

Bill

Cheryl, I

envy you and your place on the Snake. Ive been fishing in Montana for years but

it has gotten too crowded in recent years. Where in ID do you live. I hope to

make a trip there soon if my health holds. I’m interested in fly fishing off

the beaten path. Thanx, Sam

Hi all, I know I haven't posted in quite awhile but had a moment so thought I would update. I'm very excited because I finally got Rick in to see a "good" neurologist. At his last appointment after his current neuro saw us after about 5 minutes, he was done with the exam and was trying to push us out the door! Rick has been going thru some really stressful things in the past 6 months so I when I asked him what Rick could do for stress, explained the situation his answer was counseling. He didn't ask him what he was currently doing, nothing just counseling. We left Rick said, "What a jerk." This doctor has no sense of humor, no bed side manner and Rick likes to joke and kid around. He just can't take a doctor who can't take a joke. So when I went to listen to Dr. Wynn speak, earlier this month I asked his nurse later if he was taking any new patients. She said yes and said just call. So he now has an appointment with Dr. Wynn. Now we need to pray that his insurance will cover him. Rick needed to change his insurance carrier so we'll see. But I'm confidant that it will all be ok. I am sorry that I don't write much, been really busy and currently we are going to put asleep our dog we've had for over 10 years. He's like our 3rd son so it's an emotional time. So...I do continue to keep you all in my prayers. ~hugs~Dawn
