Kate I will continue to keep you in my prayers that the block or injection gives you some relief.

Hugs

nne

Well, I saw the pain management doc, who feels I could 'stand' lol,to benefit from a spinal block, or steroid injection into the lumbarspine to help with this severe pain I'm having from what he said

is rather significant degenerative arthritis. They can do it nextWed. at 11:30. I'm a bit anxious about it, but feel as if it couldreally do me some good. n, have you ever had this proceduredone, and if so, could you give me a bit of advice or feedback about

it? Thanks!I took a nap today, which I seldom do. I was speaking to our dearSharon on the phone, and felt so relaxed, I almost nodded off. Sharon, you have such a beautiful voice, and it is so soothing--really. I had the

best nap afterwards! My TN is raging again, and my neurontin is up to 2100 mgs. I had thought I was only taking 1200--got a bit dyslexic rofl! TN really canbe so consuming. I just want to go back to sleep to escape it. I am being a lazy mom today, and ordering Dominos. At least I'll make ahealthy salad to go with. Hope everyone is well today. I love you eachand all, and am blessed, fortunate and amazed to be getting to grow

closer to you all each day. love, KateWe can only be said to be alive in those momentswhen our hearts are conscious of our treasures.~Thornton Wilder

Kate~ Well, if nothing else, you do sound a lot better today. LOL Hey everybody, let's give Sharon a call! Sounds like she has just the right medicine. <tee hee> Kate, I'm glad you were able to get some much needed rest. And maybe your doctor can help you with that arthritis. I know you're looking forward to being out of that kind of pain. How is the eye doing now. Still have the ON? Love and blessings... Kate, My husband had that done and so did I. It helped him but did the reverse for me. I was in more pain but the doc said I was unusual and it was probably caused from being very thin. I was in a size 0 at that time. It worked wonders for my husband though. He was hesitant but glad he did it. The pain is not even close to what it was for him. i hope that it helps your pain go away soon. My husband said that his pain went away before he came back to the recovery room. He was actually in no more pain but it has to be done again. People are different so the timeframe is different. 6 months/12 months/2 years depending on the person. Good luck hon. Hi . Thanks for writing back. Wish I had the thin

'problem'--ha, not a problem. I am the opposite, 5'2and a half,

and...heavy. They are going to do the procedure right in his

office. I think he is not doing the epidural type one, but rather,

right into the skin of the spine. What I have is called facet joint,

severe degenerative arthritis. He said some need 1, 2, or even

3 times over a few wks. to help. I hope I need just the one.

Thank you Val, nne also for your responses.

Val, the ON or vision problems seem to be resolving, so sure it

is NOT ON. I am still bummed about my husband. I think he

was drinking heavily and possibly smoked pot also before

coming home. On our trip to Boston he was a scary driver;

too aggressive and nearly killed us on a few occasions. Of course

it isn't him--it is all the other 'idiots'--right! (sarcasm here). Any-

way, I do still feel quite stuck. He will NOT leave. I will have to

take the kids, but I am not working and have no place to go.

so stuck I stay. We both own the house, and there is no mortgage

on it. One thing at a time. I have to get out of pain first. love to all,

Kate

Kate, That's exactly what I had and no I don't have that problem (thin) anymore. I gained weight bcs I am on medication to gain weight. Have always been very skinny my whole life. My identical twin sister is still at the most 95 lbs. I am not 130 lbs. and 5'1" So a considerable difference then what I was. I am sure you will do fine. My prayers are with you. I've never had the spinal block, but I've had steroid injections in my knee joint (not in my back though) for similar problems. What I can tell you from my experience is that it really, really helps, even if the effect does wear off after a month or two (I am told they could last three months if you're lucky, don't know if that is knee specific or general though). For me it was just marvellous to walk without pain for the first time in years - it was like "Oh, yeah, I remember now, this is how walking is supposed to feel!". To me that's worth it even if they do wear off. I was also warned/told beforehand that I should be resting the first 24h after and that I might experience some pain in the area during that time as a reaction to the injection. Rest I did. The pain? Bah! That was nothing. I have lived with pain in those knees for years, I think I can handle another 24h of what, compared to my experience, was only moderate anyway. Just my experiences - your's may vary.love and good luck/Reb>> Well, I saw the pain management doc, who feels I could 'stand' lol,> to benefit from a spinal block, or steroid injection into the lumbar> spine to help with this severe pain I'm having from what he said> is rather significant degenerative arthritis.
