Guest guest
I have often typed anecdotes about my family, including one of my brothers who was born deaf, and is a retired physicist, and my eledest sister by 14.5 years to the day. I was watching a trailer on TV for the re-run of the film, The Starter Wife, and suddenly it hit me. My eldest sister was a "dead ringer" for Debra Messing--especially the face--they say we each have a double somewhere. Even the film is sort of about my sister: three marriages, although my sister had seven children in all. So, between looking at my photo in the photo section and Debra Messing in The Starter Wife, you have some idea of how two of us in our huge family look. No wonder my sister, Jane, now deceased, always thought that she had been adopted. Definitely ours, however. Definitely. I cannot find one other manic-depressive personality in our whole family, and we do have a few odd ones, but only Jane was manic by day and depressed at night--slept about three hours per night. In a family in which most everyone lives to about 100, Jane managed to survive: diabetes, cancer, some kind of bowel disease, two heart attacks and total neglect of said diabetes, to drop at 78. However, I still miss her truly wild phone calls to me. Life seems oddly dull without her. And I love her kids. Love to each of you, especially those who have lost beloved family members. Off to bed, n (it's 11:34 p.m. here)
