Guest guest
But even for me, there are days, or even several days when I want to get out and do things with my friends and my family, and I find it difficult to determine whether it is that I do not want to do so, or that I cannot do so. Usually, I truly cannot do so, and that is a real downer. Today and yesterday I was actually up and at 'em, but the fog came in both days. I did not go anywhere, could not see the house next door from my apartment window. I am not about to lose my driver's license due to the fog and have it blamed on either MS or my seizure disorder! Some days, and this is a luctury for us who are retired, I just do not get a lot done, not in the way that I had hoped to for that day. On the other hand, you would not believe the amount of food that I cooked and froze over the last two days. . . preparing for the days when about all I can do is turn on the microwave! Love to you, Kate! Cassy has said it all, and so well. Love to you, too, Cassy, and to all in our group, n > > > > > It sure is! Thanks Kate. You are a wonderful mother! Guest guest
n. We all have are share of bad days dont we? What a good idea.Wish I felt well enough to cook and freeze that would help so much. Its sometimes hard to admit why we cannot do things.I sometimes push myself just to prove to ME that I CAN do it,but I usually fail. But thats ok because im trying to prove to me and not anyone else. So,its like im not disapointing anyone but me. I know I disapoint some people like Rene but I have reached my conclusion. What can I do? It is what it is and as Long as I try my best and dont rot in bed then that must count for something. Love to you too n! And I know what ya mean about the license thing.I do not drive for many reasons but I do keep my license. And I know that if anything were to happen, like an accident, it would be easy for them to blame my health and take it for good.No way! Hang in there on those bad days.At least we always know that the next day can be better. hugz, cassy Re: structuring one's day > > Re: structuring one's > day > > Oh Cassy, It is so hard, isn't it? > I have yet to get my walker. Guest guest
Thank you, Cassy! I am so congenitally organized that it just kills me NOT to be as organized as I have been all my life. Though, my 2nd eldest daughter has me beat by miles; her place is like a hotel: all food containers labeled--sheets stacked and wrapped in ribbons! I fight the urge to say to her, " Oh, honey! I had no idea the photogra phers were coming! I'll come back in an hour! " Love to you, Cassy, and to each of you struggling to get through each hour, each day, each night! Guest guest
Cassy! lol! Listen, do you belong to a church or temple? I would see if there might be a group that might come in say, once a month or so, and give you a hand with practical needs. My church has such a group dedicated to that. Meals, rides, help with moving, cleaning, decluttering...it is awesome! Or, they will get a group together to donate to having someone come in and clean professionally. It can be humbling, but it is so worth it. I'd look into it if I were you. Or see if your mom could look into it. Just a thought hun. Take care. love you, Kate Definetly know what you mean. Guest guest
Cassy, Kate is right. Check out your church. I know that our church has a group called Helping Hands and they do just that. They will help you move, work in your yard, take you to the doctor….among many other things. I belong to a Methodist church but I am sure many denominations have services just like that. I have found, like Kate that my church “family” is there for me whenever I need them. Last night, three of my “sisters” treated me to dinner after I passed my Texas teacher’s certification exam. They picked me up and took me out. It was wonderful. Support and friendship are just as important as food and shelter to me!!! Guest guest
Hey Kate. I am ashamed to say but I dont belong to any church or temple. I always want to go but its just to hard to get outta the house. Once or should I say if I get disabilty I think Im gonna start to pay my mom out of my $. She will come and cook and clean even if I tell her not too.Sometimes when I know shes comn me and the girls hurry and pick up and I start the dishes. Otherwise she goes threw the house like tazmanian devil but instead of a mess its squeky clean.lol. She is my lifesaver. I jus wish I could take care of her you know? She raised me all my life and now shes doin all the things for me I should be doing for her. Well, maybe 1 of these days the roll can be reversed. Thanks kate! hugz, cassy Re: structuring one's day/ Well some days I do that! Cassy! lol! Listen, do you belong to a church or temple? Guest guest
Hi Connie. Thanks so much. I am ashamed to say I dont belong to a church. I have been thinking about it for some time it is just so hard to get out of the house.I do pray all throughout the day and do read the bible(a wonderful couples bible a dear friend gave me as a gift) but I am housebound so dont leave much at all. Wow. Helping hands sounds awesome. What a great thing for the church to offer. How sweet of your sisters to take you out to celebrate.I hope you had a great time. By the way,Congrats again! You and those close to you must be so proud. Luv n hugz, cassy Re: structuring one's day/ Well some days I do that! Cassy! lol! Listen, do you belong to a church or temple?
