I applied almost a year ago for extra help for my drug costs especially with the high cost of my MS drugs.

I knew this because a person from Social security called my house to ask a couple questions. She wanted an explanation of the 20K the IRS reported early 2007. I told her those funds came from a *Roth Education IRA* that I had opened after my divorce of 2000 for my now college student.

The rep told me after I told her her father now my EX claimed he couldn't afford to pay much less help with His/Our daughters college education since he is now remarried. It was a good thing you were proactive enough to do this yourself for your daughter!!!!

I just checked the site at www.Medicare. gov and read the message below ...YEAH HA!!!!!!!!!!

Our records show that you *currently* qualify for the extra help paying for Medicare prescription drug coverage. You are eligible for the extra help because you applied and were approved for a partial amount of extra help. You will pay reduced premiums, deductibles, and cost sharing for your prescription drugs. You can switch plans at any time.

If you have recently enrolled in a prescription drug plan, it may take up to 30 days to process your application. As long as you have received an acknowledgment letter confirming the receipt of your application from your prescription drug plan provider, your enrollment was successful.

Again, it may take up to 30 days for your information to appear on MyMedicare.gov. We appreciate your patience, and please check back soon.
