Guest guest
Obviously everyone is different yaddy yadda yadda. But what have been the medication protocols after a resection? Do you need to take prednisone? If so is it a long stint? Are surgeons usually accommodating to dietary needs and SCD if that is all you have chosen to eat? How do you do this in a hospital setting? Has anyone ever encountered problems with taking compounded meds once you're off the IV while in the hospital? I ask this because after my bowel obstruction and no food for 4 weeks at the hospital when they did give me food it started as clear food and graduated to cereal, toast, milk, juice in the morning then a turkey sandwich with chips and a popsicle for a snack and spaghetti and meatballs with ice cream. They would not let me leave and go home until I ate all of this and kept it down. My dear brother and husband were there to conspire to eat/get rid of the food for me so I could go home and eat easy food (this is pre-SCD) of course. This was a beyond stressful situation for me. All those weeks of healing just to be force fed garbage that got me in there in the first place! Jodi
