Guest guest
Today I received another letter in response to my third comment to 's Soup, which manufactures Swanson's Broth. I had written them AGAIN about their ridiculous adds about: turkeys, stuffing and soup " as good as Grandma, " as opposed to " as good as Grandma MAKES, " for example. So far, I have received two checks for $50.00 each and they did, temporarily, drop and change one of the advertisements, only to come out with another one, even more ridiculous than the first, and the third one is truly disgusting. I have discovered one thing, however: people with MS seem able to " get " the point and to understand what is just nuts about that add and its use of language--and all my other silly jokes as well. For example, my friend Edna, and my friend , each of who has MS each understands the absurdity of both license plates and of business SIGNS which we see while travelling, especially in Marin County, which, oddly, had the highest number of people with advanced degrees AND money in the entire state! For example, all three of us passed a vehicle last week which had a California license plate: 4UFO170. I cannot, on a family list even begin to tell you the interpretations which we each came up with. But it was my friend Edna, with rather severe MS, who noticed the Beauty Parlor sign which says: Peace, Love and Grilled Cheeses, a Hair Salon; we go on and on noticing wierd meanings and possible implications best left to the imagination. I wonder whether the Swanson folks will keep on funding my diatribes at them about their ads. Bulletins will be issued, as was said during many presidencies. Love and laughs to you all, n, nutty as ever
