I want to go visit my mom and I was thinking of freezing a batch of

yogurt so I have some upon my return home. Will the good bacteria

survive freezing? how long will the yogurt post freezer last? Is

this a good idea? Have any of you done this before?

Thanks,

Hi, Jodi,

It's my understanding that the good bacteria doesn't like the freezer

so much so you lose most of that benefit. As someone else posted

today, though, fresh yogurt lasts up to two to three weeks, so you can

leave some in the fridge for your return depending on the length of

your trip. We have frozen it before to travel in spite of losing the

good bugs, but have found the consistency when thaws to be a bit off,

it seems to try to separate.
