Guest guest
Today at Jake's two year eval he was still having some trouble hearing certain sounds even after his new microphone because his was cracked in a fall on concrete Sunday that scraped his face up and knocked his front teeth loose Anyway, they asked me how old his cord was and I know it is at least 6 months old, probably more like a year. They said that we should be changing the cord every three months because the tiny wires inside are easy to wear. In two years we had never heard this! Has anyone else? I have to find my new cord to put on it and will see if that helps. He was also remapped to see if that helped before the cord issue came up. In > two years we had never heard this! Has anyone else? I think it depends on how active the child is and how much the cord will be bent and moved around. We change JD's about every 6 months to a year - you can usually feel it starting to stiffen up a little and we change it then. I always keep an extra one on hand. When we put on a new one, I use the one I have and order a new one. That way, I always have a spare. I do know that one of the first things suggested when the child starts having problems is to change the cords. Hugs, Kay
Guest guest
I haven't heard about changing cords every 2 to 3 months but I probably change them at least 3 times a yr because usually gets them caught on things. Interesting...I'll ask the audie next month. Mom to , 4, N24 8/
