Guest guest
I DO have my own hens! (Aracaunas - the ones who lay colored eggs.) I use fresh eggs quite often for the hard boiled eggs. They *are* harder to peel. If you drain the hot water as soon as their done (about 10 minutes) and immediately flood them with cold water until they've truly cooled, they will then be easier to peel. And I don't think it's a crime to watch Martha! She sometimes annoys me, but you see some good ideas on her show. Guest guest
Anita, I was afraid I'd hurt someone's feelings with my remarks about Martha! Actually, I'm very tickled by her, but I simply do not have the time (or the stomach...ha!) to watch her too often. I guess I did learn something about the eggs the day I watched her. There was a quote from her on my calendar a little while back. (I have the " 365 Stupidest Things Ever Said " calendar.) She said something to the effect that she may take a little nap in the afternoons, but it's okay because she's able to think, even while she sleeps! Enjoy your eggs! I have some boiling right now. Power of suggestion? > > >I DO have my own hens! (Aracaunas - the ones who lay colored eggs.) I use >fresh eggs quite often for the hard boiled eggs. They *are* harder to >peel. Guest guest
This is all I know about peeling eggs. First if they are not fresh they will be hard to peel. When I start to peel an egg I crack it all over by knocking it against the counter. Then rub it in my hands,( like a ball of clay) I then place it under running water to peel. If you have a place that doesn't want to come off let the water work its way under the peel. Guest guest
Hi Spencer,My son is sensitive to eggs. Specifically, sometimes when he has them he has total diarrhea. Other times, no problem. I have not figured out how that is so, and eliminated them completely a few months ago. Me, I hate eggs so much I've never had a chance to find out if I'm sensitive.I've found it no problem to do the early stages without eggs. We've been on it for 11 weeks --egg-free-- no problem. Soup-stews of meats, meat broths, boiled veggies plus avocados, ghee...Very satisfied. For more info, please see my post immediately before this one re: backsliding.Baden
