Greetings from Bal Sansar !The Bal Sansar team feels the immense pleasure of sharing with you that our 15-bedded Sambal Community Care Center (CCC) for People Living with and Affected by HIV and AIDS (PLHA), in the Hathikhera village, Ajmer, (Rajasthan) has been formally inaugurated on June 30th 2008 in the presence of hundreds of community members.

Our Chief Guest was Dr. Digamber Singh ji, the Honorable Industry Minister GoR. The chair of the inaugural function was Sh. Rasa Singh ji Rawat, the Honorable MP of Ajmer who released a pamphlet on the Sambal services. Our Special Guest for the function: Shri Virendra Baniwal, MLA of Loonkaransar and Founding member of Bal Sansar launched our official website of: www.balsansarindia.org Nukkarnatak performance aiming to increased community awareness on HIV issues, and trees plantation in the Sambal campus were some of the activities

on the occasion.

The Sambal project is funded by HLFPPT (Hindustan Latex Family Planning Promotion Trust).

It consists of a 10 bedded Community Care Center as per the NACO guidelines with 5 additional beds dedicated to AIDS orphans with the support from individual donors and corporate partners.

Sambal services include:

Reaching out to PLHA, making them feel comfortable about their HIV status;

Associating PLHA with available services, linking them with ART;

ART treatment adherence counseling, home and community based care;

Treating PLHA for their opportunistic infections;

Providing nutritional support,

Emotional, social and spiritual counseling

The project also aims to provide them with information on their legal and human rights as well as livelihood options.
