DMSC invites Expression of Interest (EoI) from the sex worker collectives and

organisations working with the sex workers.

DMSC is leading community led intervention with the sex workers in West Bengal

to fight HIV/AIDS through empowering the sex workers. For the last 15 years

DMSC's programme continues to be the most effective programme for fighting

HIV/AIDS in the country. The values and innovative social approaches that

underpin our programme had been proved to be urgently replicated in the sex work

settings throughout the country.

DMSC is always unequivocal on the issues of sex work. It could successfully

challenge the dominant discourse and practices of public health intervention and

also successfully address the sex workers' material, emotional and social needs.

For the sex workers, developing cooperative banking and micro-credit programme

it provides economic security, developing Komol Gandhar it brings about an

opportunity for the sex workers and their children for their cultural

expression, and establishing 30 SRBs throughout West Bengal it is successfully

fighting trafficking of women in sex work. Through its integrated approach, DMSC

could substantially reduce violence against sex work sites.

Now DMSC is prepared to take great strides to replicate its best practice in

other sex work sites in the country.

For this purposes, DMSC will help and support the sex worker collectives and

NGOs fighting for the causes of sex workers in all possible forms. DMSC invites

Expression of Interest from these groups.

DMSC will short list the partners on first come first serve basis and the

organisations from the high prevelance states will be given priority.

The EOI must reflect their area of work, how long they are working, their

experience and achievements and an abstract showing how they would champion sex

workers' rights, anti-trafficking programme, reducing violence including state

mediated ones against sex worker and providing economic security for them thus

would develop a comprehensive social security network for the sex workers.

EoI should reach us within 10 days.
