Kathy, heating kills all the bacteria but freezing only kills some. Katy

My question is - since this will be used as ice cream and technically freezing the yogurt should destroy the beneficial bacteria, do you think it's okay to use this as starter?

Maybe the bigger question is: how worried should I be about ingesting

frozen bifidus?

I wouldn't take the chance. I know some people swear by it, but I did, by

accident, and got sicker than the proverbial dawg. Interestingly, years

later, I accidentally had some, and had almost no reaction.
