Guest guest
Dear Forum, I would like to take the privilege to congratulate all newly elected board members of INP+ and PWN+, who are representing all the People Living with HIV in India for their improvement of the quality of life. As a result of long-term struggle and fight of a strongly committed group of People Living with HIV in India, INP+ formed, again with the direct help of INP+, Positive Women Network, PWN+ formed and ultimately in the present shape which has been spread to all most all the states and districts of India as only Government, Civil Society Groups recognized National People Living with HIV and Women Living with HIV Networks in India. During this time we have lost many beloved Activist Friends like Late Asok Pillai, Lila Banta Singh etc. Their constant active advocacy has compelled our Government to change their attitude about Care and support in National Aids Control Policy to provide 1st line Anti Retroviral Therapy including CD-4 Test. INP+ activists also saved my life in a very crucial time by referring me to Aids Healthcare Foundation, New Delhi to restart my 2nd line Anti Retroviral Therapy. Still, many to achieve, like life saving 2nd line and further Anti Retroviral Therapy including Viral Load and Drug Resistance Test etc., the absence of which is allowing many lives to welcome death without treatment. Even, I don't know when my ongoing treatment support going to stop again! Under this circumstances I would like to request to all the newly elected Board Members of both the organizations to rethink about the urgency of the current life saving needs to be addressed and secured. Friends, you are the only people who could feel the Life Saving Urgency as our National Representative much better than our Government. As well as you are the only weapon in our favor to compel our Government again to move forward to address the Urgent Life Saving Support require now through various mechanism. Simultaneously, you could also help our Government to buy the same drugs at a lower price through active Price Negotiating Advocacy with Pharma Companies along with Civil Society Support Groups, like participating actively in ongoing Affordable Treatment Advocacy initiative with Aids Healthcare Foundation, India etc. Thanking you, In solidarity, Snehansu Bhaduri. e-mail: snehansu.bhaduri@...
