Guest guest
Hi Christy...I found sunfower amd sesame butter to be MUCH of a harder go than any nut butter...Rejuvenative Foods makes an organic raw pecan butter but it is insanely expensive! You ca norder from them online...Whole Foods sells their products but the one near me doesn' carry and and can't order the pecan butter. -------------- Original message -------------- I am getting darn tired of the Stage 1 foods and I was wondering about introducing nut butter. It sounds like pecan is the easiest one to start with? I guess that means making your own, as I don't think I've ever seen pecan butter at the store. Do the pecans need to be blanched first to make it easier to digest?I was wondering if seed butter (e.g., sunflower seed butter or tahini - sesame seed butter) would be any easier to start with than nut butter? Thoughts? ..
Guest guest
Hi Christy, Pecan butter does seem to be the easiest for most people to tolerate. No, the pecans don't need to be blanched. I've never seen pecan butter in the store either but making your own is really easy. Just put some pecans in the food processor and turn it on. You can add a little oil to help the process along but most of the time that's not even necessary. I don't think the seed butters would be the best to start with. Typically, they are the hardest to digest and shouldn't be tried until later.
