Guest guest
One of my cousins came over this evening (read a.m.) and we started to watch the Late, Late Show, with Craig Ferguson who is definitely truly nuts, a lot nuttier than me or my cousin, which may be why we enjoy it. Somewhere through a particularly baudy portion of the program where Craig carries on about the alleged national obsession of the Germans with nudity (well, at the beaches, it is o.k.), my cousin turned to me, and said, " Hey, your parents took vacations at nudist camps, didn't they? " Well, as several of us kids had discovered by raiding the family photograph collection, this was indeed true, but I had not known that he had known about it. He is a cousin on my mother's side of the family. So, He said to me, " Didn't you think that it was odd that your mother (his aunt) was so very correct in her use of language, and yet had rather a baudy taste in other things? " I asked whether he meant nudity, and he admitted that he did have that in mind. My parents were eternally, madly in love, and rather obvious about it--all of us in the family joked about it, cousins included. So we speculated as to whether my mother might have enjoyed Craig Ferguson's humor. We decided that she de finitely would have. Besides, as my cousin pointed out, his use of the language is quite good! Seems like an odd thing to be talking about in the wee hours, but he plans to stay until the show is over. We just ended up tittering about my mother who was just plain dotty over handsome men, men with intellects, and men who were witty--which explains why she was just ga-ga over my husband, Hans. The kicker here is that this cousin, a 71-year-old man, also has MS. I explained to him the creative aspects of the MS brain; he is still sort of tittering to himself while watching Craig Ferguson. Nice to provide so much pleasure for him at so little cost; besides, he brough a late dinner at about 10:00 p.m. Night-nighty! (I do realize that it is now morning), love to you all, n
