Guest guest
Dear members, We firmly believed that the observance of world AIDS Day under a local theme can be utilized to create awareness and carry messages among the vulnerable youths and students for preventive measures for HIV/AIDS. This campaign can include musical concerts, rallies, workshop and so on as is done globally. However, in Manipur, when sanctions are being imposed on the guidelines of Do’s and Don’ts of world AIDS campaign by certain powerful section, how do we exert our rights of a citizen, leaving besides the rights of PLHAs and drug users’ ? When an anti-drug users’organisation imposed sanction on drug users’ organization regarding the guidelines of World AIDS Campaign, we are getting perplexed about raising a hue & cry on organizing a series of events such as musical events. Where have our rights gone and heading towards? In the heat of this moment, it will be more appropriate if a public hearing could be conducted regarding the same to instill a pride of real democracy instead of virtual democracy. Democracy and observing WAD is not about gagging our mouth by the fear of barrel. For full story, please see ifp.co.in/30/11/07 Looking for your feedback and solidarity! Regards Rajesh.
