Regard to the Breach of Confidentiality at Namakkal ART center message posted on

We are now clear that there was no breach of confidentiality by health care

providers at Namakkal ART Center. In this time, we need to honor and appreciate

the tireless efforts of ART Doctors and Counselors at Namakkal ART Center.

Namakkal ART center has registered clients of over 3400 people living with HIV

and AIDS. For a district level hospital to take this burden is really

challenging. Currently over 2400 people living with HIV and AIDS are on regular

ART, which trips down that every day around 180-200 people living with HIV and

AIDS are treated by 2 Doctors placed in the ART Center.

Besides this, the 2 doctors have the responsibilities to monitor and manage the

15 bedded special ward for PLHA and 20 bedded ART ward. In addition to this,

only these two doctors have to undergo various trainings and meetings organized

at district and state level.

As the national network of women living with HIV and AIDS, first of all we would

like to appreciate the tireless and sincere efforts of Dr. Ramesh and Dr.

Ravikumar and counselors at the ART centers in providing the best service for

over 3000 people who are accessing the center every month.

Secondly, we request TNSACS, NACO and Health Departments to assess the

conditions at these loads and provide additional doctors and infrastructure

support or by adding additional ART Center at Taluk level for best treatment of

people on ART.
